A bartender is responsible for the mixing of drinks, serving and ensuring that customers are satisfied while creating an atmosphere of genuine hospitality.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Mixing and serving of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages
- Serving of liquor, soda, beer and wine
- Preparing alcoholic and non alcoholic beverage
- Receiving payment from customers either through cash, check, credit or debit cards
- Taking inventory and maintaining of records
- Maintaining orderliness and cleanliness of the bar area
- Adhering strictly to health safety regulations and standards
- Perform all other duties assigned
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Able to read and comprehend reading instructions
- Prior bar-tending experience
- Outgoing and demonstrated a positive attitude
- Warm and friendly demeanor
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
1 to less than 7 months

Address customers’ complaints or concerns
Serve food or snacks
Operate cash register
Supervise food and beverage servers and other staff
Short order cooking and food preparation

Store beverage and food products
Record and balance beverage sales
Organize and set up bar
Order bar stock and maintain inventory and control of bar stock
Inform customers regarding contents of cocktails or other drinks
Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations
Collect cash, credit/debit cards or other payment for beverages
Clean draft beer system
Clean bar area and wash glassware
